Select Your Business Address

To fill out the paperwork for various legal forms and for licenses and permits, you will need a business address. You can select your home address to start with. If you are working from home, you will probably want to keep your home address. If you find space to lease or buy for your business operations, you can change the address on these legal documents later.

If you don't want to use your home address, you can rent a post office box or a box at a postal service. Some of these services have boxes that "mask" the fact that they are boxes. Some of the forms you will be filling out (the SS-4 form for your Employer Identification Number application, for example), requires an actual street address for mailing purposes.
