Pro Forma

By

Definition:

The term pro forma is used in the financial sense to denote financial projections or assumptions. In a business start-up budget, for example, the income and expenses must be assumed, since there is no previous record to use to determine what these numbers should be.

A pro forma P&L is thus an estimate, not actual numbers based on past results.
