Old Age, Survivors, and Disability Insurance (OASDI)

Definition:

The Old Age, Survivors, and Disability Insurance program was set up by Congress as part of the original Social Security Act in 1935 to provide benefits to the elderly, survivors of those eligible to receive benefits, and to disabled individuals. The program is funded by Social Security tax.
