Buyout

A Buyout describes the purchase of an existing business. The term can mean eitiher:

  • Purchase of controlling interest in a business through purchase of shares of stock,
  • Purchase of one owner's share of the business, or
  • Purchase of the business itself, by buying the assets of a business.

The buyout price is based on the valuation of the business.
