New SCORE Women Entrepreneur Website Opens

For you women business owners, this is a cool site: http://www.score.org/women/site.html. It includes a blog, tools to track your business progress, and information about upcoming events. The site also has a link to a business plan template.

One event you might want to check is the upcoming Disaster Preparedness Workshop, available in 17 U.S. cities in the upcoming months. With the recent disasters in the Midwest recently, that I've written about recently, it's a good time to learn more about how to prepare your business for the unexpected.

SCORE (the Service Corps of Retired Executives) is, of course, a great resource for small business owners. I volunteered for a day at the SCORE office in Cedar Rapids to help small business owners file their disaster loan requests, and I was impressed by the professionalism and expertise of the SCORE volunteers.
