The candidates on business taxes: Barak Obama
Monday April 21, 2008
Barak Obama's Plan for Small Business includes the following:
Provide Tax Relief for Small Businesses and Start Ups: Barack Obama believes that we need to reduce burdens on small business owners, many of whom are struggling to succeed as health care and energy costs continue to skyrocket. Barack Obama will support small business owners by providing a $500 “Making Work Pay” tax credit to almost every worker in America. Self-employed small business owners pay both the employee and the employer side of the payroll tax, and this measure will reduce the burdens of this double taxation. Barack Obama will also eliminate all capital gains taxes on start-up businesses to encourage innovation and job creation.
Senator Obama also has a plan to help small businesses get loans:
Expand Loan Programs for Small Businesses: Access to capital is a top concern among small business owners. Barack Obama cosponsored the bipartisan Small Business Lending Reauthorization and Improvements Act. This bill expands the Small Business Administration’s loan and micro-loan programs which provide startup and long-term financing that small firms cannot receive through normal channels. Obama will work to help more entrepreneurs get loans, expand the network of lenders, and simplify the loan approval process.

And this two miniscule tax items are supposed to somehow “save” small businesses? Many of whom were doing pretty well until the media and the campaign worked their magic into convincing everyone otherwise?
The Obama plan will increase taxes on many of the businesses that are employing 5-25 employees. Many of thse companies run as s-corps and partnerships and are paying personal taxes on the profits they choose to keep in their companies to afford growth. If we reorganize and file as c-corps. we have more difficult taxes to deal with.
I support McCain because I think he is realistic by not over-promising. I’ve been in business most of my life and have never been in debt to do it. I employ in that 5-25 employee range. I seriously worried about Obama being elected and I’m reading the same from most small businesses.
I fear we will wake up in January and be very very sorry.
$500? That isn’t going to do much Obama. Democrats scare me. They’re not into the small business and home business agenda. They want people working out there for “the man” (LOL) Unfortunately, most voting democrats don’t believe it and continue to vote for them.
Wake up and smell the French Roast folks. Obama isn’t going to help your small business, especially if you make a lot of money at it. That piddly little $500 will not help you and it will just take money away from places that need them.
Is McCain any better? For most things, yes. I’m a Libertarian voting for McCain only because the LIbertarian candidate doesn’t have a chance against the big runners but there will be a day we will be able to say goodbye to the major parties and I hope it’s in my lifetime.
Obama is like Clinton. He talks one way and does another. I’m so SICK of him telling people how to raise their kids in his so-called campaign ads. It’s none of his DAMN business how I raise my children. Stupid democrats want to take over your lives and tell you how to run your life GO AWAY OBAMA. LEAVE MY FAMILY ALONE!!!!
Christian right-wing Republicans like Bush are way out of control but McCain isn’t like that. Palin is a little scary, but not as much as that botox Biden guy. Double B - botox biden. lol Dems will only take more of your rights away and tax you more.
$500.00 what a laughing JOKE.
Nobama, AMEN to all that. I agree 100 totally percent with what you have to say.
